Quality Indicators for Assistive Technology (QIAT)

The QIAT Consortium is a nationwide grassroots organization that serves and connects educators and professionals in need of assistive technology information. Hundreds of individuals provide input into the ongoing process of identifying, disseminating, and implementing a set of widely-applicable Quality Indicators for Assistive Technology services in school settings.

QIAT’s mission is to guide the development and delivery of quality assistive technology services in a way that provides uses with a gateway to:
  • Quality Indicators, Matrices, and QIAT in Action documents
  • The QIAT Listserv and searchable archives
  • Upcoming QIAT events
  • The QIAT Resource Bank and an online form for sharing resources and links of interest
  • Frequently Asked Questions about QIAT

The AT Cycle, developed by Johns Hopkins University Center for Technology in Education, aligns with QIAT and helps educators check the quality of their planning, implementing, and evaluating assistive technology services.
